Timetables
SGD knows that time is money, and we take your time very seriously.
Our teams provide clients with Weekly Ship Reports and document ETA/ETD to help take the guesswork out of your order. We know what to expect from each part of the transportation process, and will help you plan for delivery.
SDG can help you prepare for timing and delivery based on several factors. We are experts in the process and can provide you with estimates ahead of time, as well as accurate reporting along the way. The following timetables are general expectations:
1. Delivery to Foreign Customs
Two (2) days.
2. Consolidation
Usually two (2) days. This is required on smaller shipments, as they must be combined with other shipments to fill a container.
3. Foreign Customs Clearance
Current requirement from United States is 24 hours, but can change to coincide with world events.
4. Loading on Ship
because shipping dates vary, our team can provide accurate details once they become available.
5. Shipping Details
Shipping by boat can vary from 12 days to a maximum of forty-five (45) days from anywhere in the world depending on country of origin. Shipping by air is a maximum of five (5) to seven (7) days, with loading and unloading at various ports across the globe.
6. Customs Clearance
Stars Customs Brokers present all documentation, and upon review goods are cleared and import duties are collected. The period of time we allocate for inspections, reviews, and clearance is five (5) to seven (7) business days.
7. Delivery Order
Once goods clear customs, our broker issues this certificate to the domestic trucking line so that the transport company can proceed to the container yard to pick up the cargo. We usually allow two (2) days for this.
8. Final Inland Delivery
This can go by truck or rail with a five (5) to seven (7) day maximum for delivery anywhere within the United States. This is billed separately as an additional service to customers who wish the shipment delivered complete to their warehouse or alternate location.
